I The One Per Cent Aid | Organisation still hopes that a $7OOO donation to the Goveminent for use in the University of South Pacific burisary scheme will be accepted. Recently the donation was declined by the Government but the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) this week an-1 nounced that the Government: would be contributing up to $50,000 for 30 bursaries to ithe university. ' The chairman of One Per !Cent Aid (Mr K. P. Clements) said this morning that !he hoped Mr Holyoake would !now be in a position to accept the $7OOO that his organisaI tian had deposited in a trust account for the Government to use on such bursaries. “We hope that this will be merely the beginning of increased New Zealand concern for the whole South Pacific region," Mr Clements said.
