New Stamps For Niue

A new definitive set of stamps for Niue Island will be issued by the Niue Post Office on November 27 to replace the definitive set which has been on issue since 1950. Nine of the 10 stamps, the ic, Ic, 2c. 2}c, 3c, sc, Bc, 10c, and the 30c stamps, featured Niue flowers and were designed by Mrs K. W. Billings, of Waikanae, who visited Niue to study the flowers. The 20c stamp has a portrait of Queen Elizabeth and is designed by Anthony Buckley. The stamps with flowers were printed by fine screen offset process in the Netherlands by Joh Enschede en Zonen. Orders for first day covers will close on November 13 and inquiries should be addressed to the Philatelic Bureau, Post Office Headquarters, Private Bag, Wellington.
