OVERSEAS TRADING

SYDNEY After a very bright start. In which prices rose sharply, sellers began to dominate trading and the market tended to drift downwards throughout the rest of the day. Nevertheless rises still outnumbered falls in all sectors at the close. After its report of further nickel finds. Great Boulder moved ahead rapidly in early trading but came back to 460 for a theoretical 8c rise after its five for two share split. Beach fell 70 to 275 now that responsible authorities have denied the rumour that oil has been found off the coast of New Zealand. Industrials were mixed and the leaders changed little. B.H.P. closed at Friday’s price of 1405 after trading higher for most of the day.
