Soyuz-7 Is Launched

The Soviet Union today announced that it had launched Soyuz-7, its second manned space ship in two days, apparently in an effort to build a platform in earth orbit. The official Soviet news agency Tarn said the new craft, with three men aboard, had been put into earth orbit, but did not specify its mission. Semi-official reports have said the Soviet Union to planning a space spectacular Involving more than one manned spaceship as part of a programme to build tte world’s first orbiting space platform. Tass said ttat a “reliable communication" had been established between the two ships.
