OXFORD TO PLAY 'BOKS

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) OXFORD (England). Oxford University Rugby Club has decided to go ahead with its match against the Springboks on November 5 in spite of university opposition. The club announced that the decision was taken at a special meeting of the club's committee. The meeting discussed the public statement issued by the Oxford Vice-Chancellor (Mr A. Bullock), officially dissociating the university from the match. The club said it had never practised nor approved of race discrimination, but it said the governing bodies of the game in England, Ireland. Scotland and Wales considered the match was appropriate. The fixture has prompted a spate of criticism in Oxford. Severn organisations are planning to hold protests on November 5. These include a fireworks day committee, an ad hoc organisation responsible for a protest in July when the Oxford University cricket team played a side from South Afrcia.
