MARRIED ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIEST AND HIS FAMILY.—The Rev. P. I. Rushton, Australia’s first married Romain Catholic priest, with his wife and their daughter, Anne, and elder son, James. Father Rushton, who is 42, received a special dispensation from the Pope freeing him from the laws of celibacy and permitting him to live with his family. This photograph was taken after his ordination last Tuesday evening at the Mount St Margaret Chapel, Ryde, Sydney. His son was an altar boy at the ceremony. Father Rushton, who will serve in the Diocese of Hobart, was at one time a priest of the Church of England. He left the Anglican ministry in 1956 while a chaplain in the Royal Air Force in England.
