Meals For U.S. Navy
American servicemen and scientists travelling between stations in Antarctica later this month will be provided with in-flight meals prepared in New Zealand. The meals would be tried to see if the men wanted them, said a United States Navy spokesman. Under the Navy’s “key buy” programme—extra money allocated to be spent in New Zealand above the normal annual command budget—Crest Food, Ltd, has been asked to supply 500 dinners between October 15 and 20, and another 500 between October 25 and November 1.
