NO MOBILE STARTS

Forbury Park Decision (NJ. Press Association; DUNEDIN. There will be no mobile start* at the Forbury Park Trottint Club’s spring meeting on October il and 18, the president, Mr I. Duff, said yesterday. Mr Duff said the dub’s committee had also decided to hold a jackpot starting at the spring meeting. The opposition of the Canterbury Owners’ and Trainers* Association to mobile starts and the fact that the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s spring meeting clashes with Forbury Park on September 11 led the committee to decide against mobile starts, Mr Duff said. The decision had also been influenced by the small fields received by the New Brighton Trotting Club for its four mobile-start events on Saturday, he said. Although the jackpot arrangements had not been completed, it was likely to be held at the club’s seven meetings, terminating with the winter meeting in May.
