SUPREME COURT Companies Wound Up
Two companies, Aurdal Productions, Ltd, and Kendal Farm, Ltd, were wound up by order of Mr Justice Wilson in the Supreme Court yesterday. Aurdal Productions, Ltd (Mr D. H. Stringer), was wound up on the petition of Christchurch Candles, Ltd (Mr I. B. McNeill), which proved a debt of $1447, and Kendal Farm, Ltd, on the petition of Musgrove Bros, Ltd, contractors (Mr J. S. Bisphan), which proved a debt of $616. Petition Adjourned A petition for the winding up of Maruia Hot Springs Hotel, Ltd (Mr R. F. B. | Powell), brought by Smith, | Sargent and partners, chartered architects and engineers (Mr R. B. Leete), was adjourned to September 24. Mr Leete sought the adjournment to rectify a defect in the advertising of the petition—the advertisement not I having been inserted a clear I seven days before the date for hearing—but Mr Powell asked that the petition be struck out, submitting that it was “grossly defective.” His Honour, however, in granting an adjournment, said that all the specific matters raised by Mr Powell were capable of rectification. Petition Dismissed A petition for the windingup of Leslie S. Duncan, Ltd (Mr B. J. Drake),, was dismissed, after .Mr S. R. Maling, for the petitioning creditor, Alliance Textiles (N-Z ), Ltd, had said that satisfactory arrangements had been made for payment of the account | involved. Discharge From Bankruptcy A discharge from bankruptcy was granted Alfred I Harold Pilling, a workman | (Mr G. W. Alexander). The Official Assignee (Mr J. B. K. Curran) offered no opposition.
