COPPER PIPE STOLEN

AUCKLAND, Aug. 26. The police are investigating the theft .of about 2} tons of copper pipe, worth more than. $4OOO, from an Auckland building supplies firm, B. W. Herbert, Ltd. The manager of the firm, Mr T. W. Ganderton, said the theft was the third major one Involving copper experienced this year. The loss was covered by insurance but replacement was subject to import licens-
ing. . ■ ■' ' ' The thieves are believed to have taken the pipe, at the week-end, lifting it oyer a fence and into « vehicle.
