VENUE TO REMAIN

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Rugby Union chairman, Mr J. Sullivan, eaid yesterday it was unlikely that the in-ter-island match on September 13 would be taken away from Athletic Park. He was commenting on * report that an unamed N.Z.R.F.U. council member had suggested the game be transferred to Eden Park, Auckland, because of Athletic Park’s poor condition. “This has not been thought of or discussed,” Mr Sullivan said. Changing the venue would be a matter for decision by the full council.

The Wellington Rugby Union has decided to hold no practices or games at the park until September 6 when Wellington will play Otago.
