Electorates Drop In Size

Changes in electoral boundaries have affected the size of the main rolls in eight Christchurch electorates.

The over-all enrolment in the electorates is down to 131,193, compared with 134,881 in the 1966 main rolls. Boundary changes affecting Papanui, formerly Fendalton, have brought a lower roll number but the changes to Wigram, formerly Selwyn,

was known as Fendalton. The ■Wigram electorate has 16,325 on the main roll, compared with 15,362 when It was Selwyn. Fifty per cent of the Selwyn electorate was, moved into the new Ashburton electorate at the time of the boundary change. In both Lyttelton and St Albans there is almost no change in the roll numbers. Lyttelton has 18,016, compared with the previous figure of 17,925, and St Albans has 16,479, compared with 16,850.
