TRESPASS CHARGE

Withdrawal By Police

(N.Z. Press Association)

ROTORUA, Aug. 25. The Rotorua police today withdrew a charge of wilful trespass against a member of the South Auckland branch of the Timber Worker’s Union, who, it was alleged, trespassed on the union premises at Rotoura on August 14. Bernard William Hornfeck, a bushman, married, of Rotorua, was arrested on the union premises after a complaint was made to the police. In the Rotorua Magistrate’s Court today Senior-Sergeant S. T. Bennett made application to withdraw the charge, and said the police would offer no evidence. Senior-Sergeant Bennett said the matter was a domestic dispute concerning the union only, and the request to have the charge withdrawn was made in the interests of industrial harmony.
