‘Union Fees Too Low’
(N.Z. Press Association) TAUPO, August 25. Union fees in New Zealand were too low, the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) said in Taupo tonight. “If the fees were higher then the unions could afford to employ better qualified men at paid executive level to do their bargaining for them,” he told Taupo Lions. However, Mr Shand said only by everyone contributing to the unions were they able to provide a good service for the em.ployees.
