CLUB ROOMS OPENING

The Christchurch Contract Bridge Club’s new rooms, to Nova Place (off Barbadoes Street behind the Star and Garter Hotel) will be officially opened tomorrow afternoon.

The one-storey, concrete block building has two Playing rooms with 56 tables, has cost 665,000, and when furnishings are completed the club will have spent more than $79,000. An invitation opening tournament will be held over this week-end to mark the opening of the rooms and 218 players are expected to take part.
