NOMENCLATURE CHANGES

From time to time attention has been drawn to the inherent pitfalls of referring to plants by common name. It also happens that botanical misnomers are given to some subjects which can cause confusion. Sometimes additional investigations may indicate the need to reclassify a plant. From time to time there is a review of plant nomenclature and some revisions may be made where it has been found necessary. The following list has been received and included on this page so that there can be a more

widespread awareness of the changes made. (2) The yellow variegated foliage is erect and does not droop. This plant is now ebmmon in New Zealand and Australia. Ph. tenax Williamsii has foliage which does droop.
