<S.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. A newly formed Sydney investment company, Myobb International Pty, Ltd, has signed the New Zealand professional golfer, J. M. Lister, of Russlev to a three-year contract on the American circuit If Lister is successful the company proposes to sponsor another young golfer. “It all started when one of the two New Zealanders who are directors approached me at last year’s New Zealand P.G.A. championship,” said Lister. “I signed with them just before I went to the Far East this year. Since then I have won about $4OOO and my expenses have been round $3000.” The company is paying all Lister's expenses in return for a percentage of his earnings. Lister will leave soon for the
United States to seek a player’s ticket for 1970 at the P.G.A. “rookie” school held in Florida from November 2 to 8. His application to attend the school has been endorsed by K. D. G. Nagle and R. J. Charles. In his application Lister asked that he be exempted from the school’s prequalifying rounds In California in September, which are being held to weed out the less promising players seeking admittance to the school. Lister will return to New Zealand in time to play in the pre-Christmas circuit At the recent Cairns tournament Lister had rounds of 67, 65, and 69, to win by five strokes from the Australian, E. W. Dunk, and the New Zealander, W. J. Godfrey. In 10 weeks on the Australian winter circuit he has had two wins, six seconds, four thirds and two fourths.
