V.R.C. Profit Increases

(N Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE. The Victoria Racing Club showed a profit in the 1968-69 financial year of $69,000 an increase of $27,000 over the previous year’s figures, according to the club’s annual report, released yesterday. Operating costs rose from $815,009 to $903,000 and income tax from $31,000 to $57,000. These figures are adjusted to the nearest $lOOO. Attendances were down for the season at Flemington. For the 1968-69 season 475,039 went to Flemington compared with 488,509 the previous year. Prize money increased from $711,028 in the 1967-68 year to $774,660.
