Political Airmen
Piloted by Mr D. A. J. Walker, the National Party candidate for Timaru in the General Election, a Cessna aircraft was flown over Timaru on Wednesday to enable a study to be made of the traffic-way and loop road routes. One of the two passengers landed the machine. He is the president of the National Party (Mr E. D. Holt), who was a flying instructor at Taieri during the Second World War. Mr Walker served as a pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force, and the other occupant of the aircraft, Mr N. H.: Gould, who is chairman of the party's Timaru electorate was at Harewood as a flying : instructor in World War ll. ‘ (F.0.0.R.). >
