Cook Essay Contest

The New Zealand Naval Board will sponsor a competition among units of the Navy League Sea Cadet Corps for an essay, of 500 words, on the subject, “Captain James Cook, Royal Navy, His Exploits and Achievements." Sea cadets between the ages of 14J and 18 will be eligible for the competition. Two prizes will be awarded. Each will comprise a posting to one of the New Zealand ships taking part in the Cook bicentenary celebration at Gisborne.
