(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 15. The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation reported tonight that it had filed a Supreme Court writ seeking to prevent the Broadcasting Authority from hearing applications for private commercial radio licences in Hamilton, Dunedin and Auckland. In a news broadcast, the N.Z.B.C. said: “The N.Z.B.C. today filed proceedings in the Supreme Court claiming a writ of prohibition against the Broadcasting Authority.

“The proceedings seek to stop the authority from going ahead with the hearing of applications for the issue of certain commercial radio station warrants in Hamilton, Dunedin and Auckland in the terms of statements previously made by the authority.”
