Weather Advice
(N.Z. Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 14. The Tourist Hotel Corporation took advice from the Weather Office, not the At-torney-General, when it decided to gamble on West Coast weather, the corporation’s sales manager (Mr E. Honey), said today. At the Franz Josef Hotel, in South Westland, the corporation offers a free night’s board (worth up to $l5) to a lodger if more than 10 points of rain falls during the day; and a soli-
citor, Mr R. R. Kearney, said in the Gisborne Magistrate’s Court this week that he would be interested to see whether the corporation was prosecuted for running an illegal lottery. Mr Honey said today: “If the steak is overdone we’il give you a new one. It is the same with West Coast weather in winter. We are pretty certain that our chef won't burn the steak, and we are pretty certain it won’t rain much on the West Coast during the day in winter.” .
