Schoolboys Avenged
The Christchurch schools’ re{iresentative soccer team gained ts revenge over the young Christchurch United XI, winning their return match, 2-1, under lights at English Park last night. When the two teams met last month, the United XI won, 5-1. A. Smith, who scored one of the Schools’ goals last night, had an outstanding game, and I. Perry. G. Dacombe and D. Hadlee were key players in the defence.
The other goals were scored by K. Doornenbal (Schools) and C. Cawley (United). The United team also missed a penalty, its own goal-keeper. P. Straw, taking the shot and driving the ball straight at his opposite number. Hadlee.
