Parliament’s Diary

Five bills were introduced when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon after its recess. The Electoral and Electricity Amendment Bills were read a first time, and the Sale of Liquor Administration and Criminal Injuries Compensation Bills were read a second time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee.

Ministers answered 38 questions. The Whangarei County Council Empowering Bill was read a first time and referred to the Local Bills Committee. The Wellington Harbour Reclamation Bill was reported back with amendments.

The Wills Amendment Bill and the Hotel Association of New Zealand Bill were reported back by the Statutes Revision Committee with amendments.

During the evening, departmental estimates were discussed.
