Scholarship Skiers
Six North Island and five South Island skiers were named as recipients of the McKenzie Scholarship by the New Zealand association yesterday. The New Zealand representative, M. Gardner, will coach the North Island skiers at Ruapehu, and J. P. Picher, a qualified Canadian racing coach, will train the South Island winners at Coronet Peak. The scholarships extend from September 1 to 12. The skiers are: North Island.—R. Armstrong (Hawera), B. Hansen (Wellington), J. A. Payne (Auckland), S. Mace (Stratford), D. Sturges (Auckland), Miss B. John (Hawera).
South Island. —G. Gilkison (Dunedin), B. Mills (Queenstown), T. Stewart (Christchurch), D. Spence (Queens town), Miss J. Stevenson (Christchurch).
