Mr Neil Armstrong is 39 today—but the space agency which put him on the moon has apparently failed to provide enough candles for his birthday cake. A vanilla cake with “Happy Birthday Neil” in white icing is being baked for the Apollo 11 commander behind the lunar quarantine barrier. But an. agency spokesman, Mr John McLeaish admitted that there might be a shortage of candles. •Up to last night only 26 had been found.
