SAMPLES OF MOON ROCK
Request By N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 30. Inquiries to see if moon rock samples can be brought to New Zealand for study will be made in America next week by the director of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences (Dr T. A. Rafter). Dr Rafter said today that he would be visiting the University of California on Monday. “I shall certainly see whether we can get specimens of rocks samples from the moon, though perhaps not necessarily from the first flight” He believed there was a good chance of New Zealand scientists receiving samples. “There are certain measurements that can be made here just as well as anywhere, else," he said.
