Top price of 8240—the line averaged *ll7—was paid by Table Hill Farm (Waimate) tn the Dorset Down section at an extremely successful sale of stud Dorset Down and South Dorset Down ewes conducted by the Canterbury Farmers’ Cooperative Association, Ltd, on account of the Carrington Park Proprietary. Ltd. of Oberon. Australia, at the Tlrnaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s showgrounds last week. There was a complete clearance.
Among the South Dorset Downs, top price of $l3O was paid by Wright Stephenson and Company. Ltd (Auckland), as agents The ewes had just completed a month's quarantine, and were in good farming condition. Buyers were present from Invercargill to Auckland. Price ranges In the South Dorset Down section were as follows:—one-shear ewes averaged $5O (ton price of $90); flve-shear, $57.50 ($90): threeshear ewes, $53.50 ($130); fourshear and five-shear ewes, $43 ($7O).
