C.M.I. Sees Improvement

(N.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND. July 30. All signs pointed to the substantial improvement in sales and profitability of Consolidated Metal Industries, Ltd, experienced in the first quarter of the current year, continuing in the foreseeable future, the chairman (Mr H. M. Gray) told the annual meeting in Auckland today. The directors viewed the period ahead with considerable assurance and believed results since the balance date completely vindicated the restoration of the lj per cent bonus dividend, added to the 11 per cent ordinary dividend. The addition of $124,050 to orinary capital through conversion of the notes in August would not influence the dividend rate in the immediate future. The notes will be converted on a one-fbr-one basis as at August 13.
