“The Press” Special Service LONDON. Although the attendance at the Lord’s test between England and New Zealand of 48,500 was below the figure for the corresponding match in 1965, the gate receipts were higher.
In 1965, rain helped spread the match over the full five days and there was a total attendance of 52,000, with a gate of about £9OOO for New Zealand.
This time, New Zealand’s receipts from the match are in excess of £ll,OOO.
