Seconded ashore by C.N. Company especially to take a leading.part in the preparation for, and implementation of, the N.Z.U.E., Captain James Lough is now based in Wellington in the office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd. He has been 10 years with C.N. Company, and over the last two years has been increasingly involved with their unit load services. He

spent some time in the company's planning department in Sydney, and a good part of 1968 in New Guinea paving the way for the unitised sideport operation by the Island Chief between Australia and New Guinea. Captain Lough will be principally involved in the pre-planning of loading and discharge for each voyage and will visit all New Zealand ports of call regularly. He will be in close touch with the harbour boards, producer boards and importers or exporters who may have special problems in umtising their cargo themselves.
