The Hotel is located in Fiordland National Park in a remote scenic area. It is completely self contained for all mechanical and electrical and other services and the duties of the position are to maintain these services and operate much of the equipment with a high degree of reliability. The equipment includes hydro-electric and diesel engined generating plant, launches, laundry and kitchen equipment central heating plant, water supply, etc. Unskilled assistance is available as necessary and outside help can be called upon for planned overhauls, etc. Any appointment will be for a maximum of two years with the right of renewal for further periods of one year. Initial salary $3040-$3500 depending on qualifications and experience, with married or single accommodation and meals provided. Schooling is not available locally.
