Holidays Early The August holidays have come early for the 93 pupils of the Rapaura School, near Blenheim. Their school was; closed on Thursday and yesterday morning the Medical: Officer of Health (Dr J S.J Roxburgh) told the head-: master (Mr S. J. Kermode) | that the school should be closed for another week. On I Thursday only 37 pupils came I to school. The rest were home ' in bed with measles or influenza—(PA.)
DC3 Sold The National Airways Cor-j pcration has sold another of, its DC3s to Laos Airlines,! which already has three of the airline’s former DC3 fleet The . price was about $30,000 Another DC3 is to be chartered to Mount Cook Airlines for; about two months to enable [ the airline to overhaul its own, two DC3s. The DC3 which! Mount Cook Airlines will re-j ceive is at present being used: under charter by Fiji Airways. It is due in Christchurch; next month.
Minority Group A Uniforms Minority Rights Association has been formed in Auckland. It aims to take the side of parents and their children who, against their wishes, have to buy and wear school uniforms as a condition of school attendance. Its president is Mrs B B. Winn, of Mangere, and the secretary Mrs G. D. Dikstaal, of Torbay. Mrs Dikstaal’s daughter was involved in the Rangitoto College uniform controversy earlier this year—(PA)
