Nine Injured In Accident

(New Zealand Press Association) ’TJF AUCKLAND, July 27. Nine people, including a mother and her six children, were injured this afternoon when two cars collided near Howick.

The mother, Mrs Rene Reynolds, aged 44, of Clendon Place, Manurewa, who suffered concussion, was admitted to Middlemore Hospital where her condition tonight was satisfactory. Three of her children. Charmaine, aged 10, Peter, eight, and Susan, seven, all of whom suffered concussion, were taken to Auckland Hospital. All were in a fairly satisfactory condition later.

The other three children, Joyce, 14, Shirley, six, and Paul, four, were treated for minor injuries at Middlemore Hospital and later discharged. Two young men who suffered minor injuries in the accident, were also treated and discharged. The accident occurred at the intersection of the Howick Whitford Road and Point View Road, about two miles from Howick.
