$500 Fine For Assault

(NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 25. A 20-year-old youth who hit a man with a bottle in a city club, causing facial injuries that needed 35 stitches, was fined $5OO and placed on probation for two years in the Supreme Court today by the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild). Dennis Noel Cleaver was appearing for sentence on a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
