The new illuminated “no right turn” signs used for the one-way street system were very good, but those at the Gloucester Street-Colombo Street intersection merged with the background, Mr E. R. Casbolt told the council of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) last evening. It was decided it should be suggested to the Christchurch City Council that the new illuminated signs be used at other intersections as well.

Blenheim Message The Blenheim Borough Council decided to send a message of .congratulation to the Apollo astronauts on their moon landing, aiid to invite them to visit Blenheim whenever they are in New Zealand. The council will also consider renaming the R.S.A. car 'park Apollo Place.— (P-A.)

Joint Meeting When the Heathcote County Council last evening discussed the Local Government Commission’s request for its views on a North Canterbury area scheme, it was decided to invite members of the Akaroa. Mount Herbert, and Wairewa county councils and the Lyttelton Borough Council to meet Heathcote on a date to be arranged to discuss matters of mutual interest.
