No Conviction Of Girl

AUCKLAND, July 22.

A girl who last week admitted a charge of making a false statement to the police was today released for three months without conviction with a view to discharge. Suppression of her name was continued.

Sergeant L. de L. Graham said last week that she had told the police she had been attacked by a passing motorist in Remuera, but later | admitted that she had injured I herself with a sharp hairclip. Today, Mr D. G. Sinclair, S.M., said the doctor’s report on the girl was “very helpful.” He ordered her to pay $4O towards the cost of prosecution.
