WELLINGTON, July 21. The impact of today's moon landing> would not be fully realised and understood until men had had time to absorb the great change which had taken place in their lives, the director of the Carter Observatory (Mr I. L. Thomsen) said today. The magnitude of the change in technological advances and man’s capabilities that had resulted in today’s achievement would not be fully comprehended for perhaps another 10 years. “You’ve got to look back,” Mr Thomsen said. “At the moment it is so staggering that you cannot really take it i all in. You've got to wait for I the passage of time. ! “My feeling is that the ; greatest moment of excite- ■ rnent will be when they get i this lump of dirt back. That is ! really going to be something.”
