Ashburton Stakes Up

Stakes for the Ashburton County Racing Club’s two-day spring meeting next season have been increased $ll5O. The principal race on the first day will be run over a mile for a stake of $l2OO, an increase of $2OO. Trophies worth $75 and $25 for the successful owner and jockey will be given by Gordon’s Gin, Ltd. The Ashburton Cup, 11 furlongs, on the second day will be worth $l6OO, an increase of $2OO on last year. The club will give a $25 trophy to the most successful trainer at the meeting.
