D.B. Profit Up To $1.5m
Dominion Breweries, Ltd, Auckland, earned a net profit of $1,506,019 in the last March 31 year—s36,74o more than in the previous year. The latest 2.5 per cent higher profit comes after a 2.4 per cent gain in 1967-68. A steady final dividend of 7 per cent has been recommended, making the annual rate an unchanged 124 per cent.
The directors say that the latest preliminary profit includes no part of the profits of the recently acquired subsidiaries, Taranaki Brewery, Ltd, Tui Brewery, Ltd, T. and W. Young, Ltd, Hardwicke and Robertson, Ltd, and Frederick Cross and Sons, Ltd.
The reason for this, the directors say, is that settlements were not affected at balance date.
The latest dividend is payabel on July 30, while books will be closed from July 21 to July 30.
