Share Prices Fall Slightly
The New Zealand sharemarket was mainly steady again yesterday, falls exceeding rises by four to three and leading issues showing further small losses. The turnover was light, particularly in Christchurch.
Skellerup rose another 15c to 915 c, but other gains were smaller, Sanford standing out with an 8c rise to 110 c and New Zealand Newspapers the. strongest leader with a 5c rise to 400 c. Among the falls, SmithBiolab reacted to its directors’ withdrawal of their bid
for Dental and Medical with sales down to 172 c, an 8c fall. N.Z. Forest fell again, this time by 4c to 460 c, but other moves were marginal. The overseas list steadied also, although Mount Isa leapt forward again with a 155 c gain to 1150 c, 10c above its week-end price.
