DESIGN OF STAND
Architect Appointed “The P«m’ # Special Sarvtce HAMILTON. » The Walksto Racing Club has appointed a Hamilton architect, Mr B. M. Gleeson, to design Its new grandstand, which will replace the existing owners' and trainers’ stand and the administration block at Te Rapa The club will send Mr Gleeson and the secretary of the Waikato Racing Club. Mr J. K. Wild, to Australia this week to inspect racecourse buildings in Melbourne and in Sydney. They will leave New Zealand tomorrow and will visit Melbourne first. Thev sre to return to New Zeslahd next Tuesday. It is expected thst a start will be made on the new grandstand at Te Rapa early in the new year. Mr Gleeson designed the recently completed grandstand at Te Awamutu for tha Waipa Racing Club.
No Import Breach.—There had been no evidence that regulations prohibiting imports from Rhodesia bad been breached, the Customs Department said in its annual report yesterday. The report said a number of importations had been investigated.—(P.A.)
