FEDERATION’S ATTITUDE

Policy To Help Commission (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. “Our policy will be to help and not hinder the Commission of Inquiry into Racing," the incoming president of the New Zealand Ownera’ and Trainere’ Federation (Mr J. C. Pollock) said in Wellington yesterday. Mr Pollock was speaking at the annual meeting of the federation.

"First wo must have harmony In our ranka so we can all work for the betterment of racing,” he eatd. "Stakea are the lifeblood of racing . . . they effect all people concerned with racing and our major aim will be the increasing of stakes. "But this cannot be done until a good look is taken at the unfair taxation of racing and the unrealistic distribution of T.A.B. funds.”

The retiring president (Mr J. F. Fouhy) said it was most important that the federation draw up a sound and reasoned case for the commission and that it be properly presented. “The commission is an important milestone in New Zealand racing which we have been after for some time,” he said.
