NEW ZEALAND SKI TEAM
Two young skiers, B. Hansen (Wellington) and T. Stewart (Canterbury), have been included in the men’s section of the New Zealand team to compete in Australia between July 24 and August 9.
The team of six men and four women will have the Australian national championships from August 4 to 7 as their main mission during the tour. The inter-Dominion championship will be run in conjunction with the national series at Falls Creek with two slaloms and two giant slaloms counting towards the competition.
As a build-up to these events the skiers will take part in the Victorian titles at Mount Buller on July 26 and 27, the Maloney Cup at Falls Creek on August 2, and the Ross Milne Memorial Cup, also at Falls Creek, on August 3. The team, to be managed
by Mr P. Willis (Canterbury), is:— Men: M. Gardner (Canterbury), C. Wormersley (Canterbury), D. John (Taranaki), R. Wormersley (Canterbury), Hansen, Stewart. Women: R. Willis (Canterbury), M. Blakely (Auckland), S. Ryan (Otago), R. Harrison (Auckland).
