Linwood And Naenae Draw

The annual winter tournament between Linwood High School and Naenae College (Wellington). played at Linwood yesterday, resulted in a draw. Both teams won two games, and one was drawn.

Rugby.—Linwood, winning plenty of ball and varying its play effectively, beat Naenae, 19-0. Scorers: J. Vine, 2 tries; E. O'Sullivan. G. Sauer. D. Win* ton, 1 try each; A. Trenbirth. 2 conversions.

Soccer.— Although possessing a stronger forward line Ltnwas perhaps lucky to escape with a 2-all draw when K. Doornenbal scored in the last minute. Scorers, Linwood: N. Francis and Doornenbal. Naenae: R. Lind. 2 goals. Boys’ Hockey.—By making better use of its more limited opportunities, Naenae beat Linwood, 2-1. Scorers. Naenae: B. Richards and K. Bullmore. Linwood: I. Lane.

Girls’ Hockey.—Naenae held on to an earily lead to beat Linwood, 1-0. Scorer for Naenae: J. Langford. Girls’ Basketball.—More accurate shooting by B. Taylor and B. Thompson gave Linwood a 26-16 win over Naenae.
