SURVEY IN S.-E. ASIA
Markets For Engineers
Representatives of Canterbury engineering companies yesterday met a two-man export survey mission which is to visit Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in August and September. The men are Mr R. S. O’Hagan, general manager and a director of A and G. Price, Ltd, Auckland, and Mr B. C. Hickey, executive officer of the Development Division of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
Welcoming them to the meeting, the president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association (Mr A. S. Farrar) said the team would assess export opportunities for all New Zealand engineering products, but particular attention would be paid 'to machinery and equipment relating to large industrial power, transport, port, land, forestry and development schemes.
The team would also investigate the market for finishing goods, parts and components, technical knowhow agreements and consultancy services.
