Mr N. S. Coad, the District Commissioner of i Crown Lands, who will' leave for Wellington soon to become assistant Director-General of the Lands and Survey Department was bidden farewell at a meeting of the North Canterbury Catchment Board yesterday. The chairman (Mr A. T. Bell) said that Mr Coad had initiated improvements in the board’s reserves policy and had played an important part in developing McLean’s Island reserves for recreation.
Mr A E. Waite, of Wairoa, the president of the Citrus Council, was re-elected unopposed for his third term at the council’s annual conference in Gisborne.—(PA.)
