Oil Workers’ Pay

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, June 30.

After one unsucessful bid for Australian rates of pay. several hundred oil exploration workers throughout New Zealand are planning direct bargaining with Individual employers. “And if we don’t get any satisfaction, we'll have to take action on the jobs” said the president of the Labourers’ and General Workers’ Federation (Mr H. Kay) today.

Last week Mr Kay led an unsuccessful deputation to five employer groups in Wellington to seek a ruling rate agreement for workers in the oil industry.
