AUCKLAND, June 30.
One vehicle in four will fail to get a warrant of fitness because of worn tyres when the tread-depth regulations come into effect tomorrow.
The Auckland City Council testing station and the Takapuna testing station report that one vehicle in four being tested today would fail to meet the requirements. Tyre dealers said that business had increased compared with the corresponding time last year, but there was not the rush they had expected.
