C. Coody (Texas) won his first major tournament in five years when he beat B. Crampton (Australia) with a final 69 for the 5U522.000 first prize in the Cleveland Open golf.

Coody finished with a 72hole total of 271, nine under par and two strokes ahead of Crampton. In third place was R. Murphy at 275. B. Yancey was equal fourth with F. Beard, on 276.

J. Schlee was sixth, and R. J. Charles (N.Z.) finished two under par on 278, equal with J. Levinson.
